(These are general guidelines.)
Installation Process:
1. Prepare the Night Lock (for floor mounting):
- Important Note: This step requires drilling into the floor. If you have tile flooring, consider consulting a professional for proper installation to avoid damaging the tiles.
- Place the Night Lock on the floor, about 2 inches from the bottom of the door and 1/8 inch away from the door frame. Mark the top and bottom holes with a marker.
- Using the drill and 1/4-inch bit, drill pilot holes at the marked locations from inside the house.
2. Install the Night Lock Door Plate:
- Position the Night Lock base plate against the door, aligning it with the drilled holes.
- Insert the top screw and tighten it securely.
3. Attach the Stop Spacer:
- Take the second screw and place the stop spacer on it, with the tapered end facing the door plate.
- Screw this assembly into the bottom hole of the Night Lock base plate.
4. Install the Door Armor Jamb Shield:
- This shield protects the lockset area on the jamb.
- The shield should have pre-cut knock-out holes to fit various lock placements. Select the hole that aligns with your lockset and detach it.
- Position the shield on the jamb, aligning the hole with your lockset, and secure it with the provided screws.
5. Install the Door Armor Hinge Shields:
- These L-shaped shields go over your existing door hinges for added security.
- Simply place the shield over the hinge and secure it with the screws.
6. Install the Mini Door Shields (optional):
- These small shields reinforce the door itself to prevent kicking or prying attempts.
- Position and screw them onto the door following the manufacturer's instructions (usually on the door's side edge).
