Door Armor MINI Single Door Security Kit: Installation Guide

Before you begin:

• Gather your tools: Drill, drill bits (appropriate size for screws), Phillips head screwdriver (optional), tape (optional)
• Make sure your door is closed and locked.
• Identify the contents of your Door Armor MINI Kit:
  • Door Jamb Shield
  • 2 Door Shields
  • Self-tapping screws

Installing the Door Jamb Shield:

1. Position the Shield: Place the Door Jamb Shield on the door jamb, lining it up with the strike plate on the door frame. The curved edge of the shield should face outwards.
2. Mark the Screw Holes (Optional): You can use a pencil to lightly mark the screw holes on the jamb through the designated holes in the shield. This can help ensure accurate placement. Alternatively, you can hold the shield in place firmly and drill directly.
3. Drill Pilot Holes: Using your drill and appropriate drill bit size, drill pilot holes into the jamb through the marked locations (or directly through the shield).
4. Secure the Shield: Line up the shield again and screw it into the jamb using the provided self-tapping screws.

Installing the Door Shields:

1. Choose the Right Shield: Depending on your door handle type, select the appropriate Door Shield (one for each side of the door).
2. Position the Shield: Hold the Door Shield in place over the doorknob or deadbolt. Ensure the curved edge faces outwards and the shield covers the entire strike plate area.
3. Mark the Screw Holes (Optional): Similar to the Door Jamb Shield, you can mark the screw holes with a pencil for better precision.
4. Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes through the marked locations (or directly through the shield) into the door with the appropriate drill bit size.
5. Secure the Shield: Line up the shield and screw it securely into the door using the provided self-tapping screws.

Tips:

• Use masking tape to hold the shields in place while marking or drilling for easier positioning.
• If you're unsure about drilling into your door, consult a professional handyman.
• Safety First! Wear safety glasses when drilling.
